HIRAFU ZAKA

When I saw outside from the window yesterday evening,

I noticed that it started to snow lightly.

It has snowed lightly since yesterday evening,

but now it is getting heavy snow and the wind gets stronger.

Then the field of vision is getting worse.

Please be careful of driving.

Hirafu Zaka, which is a main street of Niseko Grand Hirafu Ski area, is decorated by lights.

It takes about 15-20 minutes on foot from Izumikyo Management Center.

When you come to Niseko in winter season, why don't you visiting the street ?

I recommend to take a walk there at night.

You may see the beautiful street and the ski area on "a clear day".

I like it.

Autumn leaves progress in Niseko

A weather condition has become better since yesterday's heavy rain.
Today it's sunny day.
But it's windy and the temperature is getting lower and lower,
almorst 20 degrees C.

Getting colder brings heightened attention when is the best time of autumn leaves.

Surrounding trees and leaves of Izumikyo Management Center are just changing
from fresh green color into yellow or orange color.

It's still early to enjoy seeing autumn leaves around Izumikyo area
but it seems that Goshiki Onsen area and top of Mt. Yotei area begin to turn red or yellow.

In Nikose Annupuri and Chisenupuri area, leaves colors are mostly green.

When you come to Niseko, please check and enjyo seeing autumn leaves, too.

Lake Hangetsu

We are often asked where Lake Hangetsu is.

Lake Hantetsu is in the northwest of the base of Mt. Youtei.
The lake is a volcano lake.
Its sea level is 270 meter, average water depth is 4m and the deepest part is 18.2m.

In Autumn, you can enjoy seeing the seasonal mushrooms, birds and leaves.

As for mushrooms and birds,
you may find "hiratake (blue oyster mushrooms)" , "naratake (honey mushrooms)"
 "yamagara (Parus varius)" and "kibashiri (Certhia familiaris)".

As for leaves, it may not be needed to say, when leaves are tinged with red or yellow is nicer.
 

Why don't you visit Lake Hangetsu when you come to Niseko?
